I have some red pajamas that I wore when I was a baby. And Cruz is finally old enough to fit into them. Talk about vintage. These jammies are a little worse for the wear as they went through my two older cousins before they got to me and that was over 25 years ago. There is a funny little sense of pride watching him crawl around in them.
This is me wearing them when I was a baby. Sorry for the blurriness, its a picture of a picture. I was actually only 9 months in this picture, but since Cruz is such a pea, he didnt fit into them until 13 months.
Its so fun that Cruz gets to wear something that I did when I was young.

Fashion Friday: Breastfeeding Friendly
The number one clothing-related question I get asked is "what can I wear while I am breastfeeding?"
Girls, I feel ya.
I always used to feel soo limited by what I could wear because everything had to be Chi-Chi friendly. I had to be able to whip out a boob at a moments notice (under any other circumstances, that would have been a totally sexy statement).
So I wanted to put together a few looks to show Mama's that there is tons of stuff you can wear and still breastfeed in.
Also, shoes.
They totally make an outfit. Below are my most comfy/ carrying-a-baby-all-day-friendly picks.
Keep in mind that I am no model (at all), but I couldn't convince my sister to pose for the pictures and my little brothers girlfriend bailed, so, behold my awful/awkward modeling skills.
fan of fashion fridays? How about a vote?

Photos c/o my Momographer (get it? Mom + Photographer. Ok. Let the awkwardness begin)
Button fronts are a great option b/c, obviously, they unbutton in the front. Ultimate easy access to the boobs.
Also, if its freezing there like it is here (I mean look at the window, looks cold right?) I like to add a scarf, cowl, anything knit & cutesy socks.
Option two for cold weather.
Also, I'll belt anything and everything. My family makes fun of me for it. I just think it adds interest/focal point to an outfit. The natural waist is the thinnest part of your torso, so when you have a 2inch torso like me, you gotta work with what you got.
Probably my most awkward photo. Wanted to show that the top of this sweater is really stretchy and great for nursing.
Cute without the sweater, if your super lucky and live somewhere that its warm right now.
Also, this skirt is actually a dress. But I think that almost any maxi dress can double as a skirt.
Option 3
Breastfeeding friendly for obvious reasons.
Super comfy flats that add a fun pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit.
Option 4
Let me know if you get tired of me flashing the camera.
I cut the tops of lots of my tank tops to make them work for breastfeeding. If they are thin cotton, the fabric rolls a little and looks intentional. Doesn't work for all garments, but ones like this work great.
Leggings and boots are a great way to wear shorts during colder months.
End awkwardness.
If you have any questions about where I bought things, feel free to ask.

And then he was a big boy
I cried all the way home from dropping Cruz at his dads on Saturday.
Usually, when I drop Cruz off, he is hesitant to leave me. He doesn't want to get out of my arms, he cries, its hard on everyone.
Not on Saturday.
He was so excited to go with his Papa. It was his first time going for 8 hours. He didnt even want to nurse before he left or anything. He couldn't get to his Papa fast enough.
So I did all I could do. I let him go with a smile and kiss on top of his head.
And then I drove away.
My first reaction was devestation. I was so sad that my little boy didnt need me anymore. He didnt care about nursing. He didnt care about leaving Mama. He just wanted to go have big boy time with Papa. How did this happen? My little baby who cried when I left his last week is ecstatic to leave this week? No No No.
I cry, cry, cried.
When I got home I talked to my own Mama about it. She told me not to be sad and reminded me that this is what I have always wanted. For him to be happy to go with his Papa. For him to not get sad anymore. And she was right.
She told me that it was a sign of what a good job I am doing. That he is a well adjusted baby who knows that Mama loves him and will always come back for him. That its ok for him to go have fun with Papa and then come home to Mama after.
And she was right.
But it was my little brother who made the best point. He said that it was a sign of what a good job Papa is doing. And he was the most right.
I am doing a good job and Cruz is a very well adjusted baby. But mostly, Papa is doing an excellent job at learning how to meet Cruz's needs without me hovering over him. Yes, he does it different then I do, but obviously thats just fine by Cruz. He is doing a great job teaching Cruz that its good to go have fun with Papa. To have big boy time. And that when its all said and done, Cruz has two parents who love him very, very much.
So I ended the day feeling happy and relieved in knowing that I don't need to worry about my little one so much while he is gone. That I can take a deep breath and relax, knowing that my boy is having a good time. I ended with a big ol' sigh of relief... and only one little sad smile because no matter how happy and content my little boy is, letting go will always be hard.

Wordlessish Wednesday
My little carnivore.
He did not get this from me.
I am not a meat lover.
Except in my uncles beef stew that I had for dinner tonight.
And when he makes BBQ chicken sandwiches.
Ok, only when my uncle makes meat.
Other then than that, I'm not a fan.
You think Cruz makes meat-eating cute? Show the love with a vote!

In the Bag(s)
So a few of my most favorite bloggers (Drea & Danielle) have done this super cute post called "in the bag." Basically exactly what it sounds like, the same kind of thing you see in magazines (except diaper bags are way cooler then celebrity purses, right?)
But I have a confession, and I dont know if this is like a mommy sin, but I dont have a diaper bag.
I have several different bags I use.
Basically, how it goes down is this:
1. Seventh Generation Diapers
2. Cloth diaper cover (Thirstie)
3. Diaper liner (gDiaper)
4. California Baby "Diaper Area Wash."

I have several different bags I use.
Basically, how it goes down is this:
I have these two essential bagettes (totally not a word, unless we're talking bread, but we're not) that I made which go in whatever bag I am carrying.
2. Cloth diaper cover (Thirstie)
3. Diaper liner (gDiaper)
4. California Baby "Diaper Area Wash."
1. Pro Bugs Organic Milk Kefir -Whole Foods(thanks auntie, Cruz loves them!)
2. Happy Baby organic baby food...great for on the run
3. Dr. Brown's training sippy cup
4. Green Spout eco-friendly containers - Whole Foods
5. Horizon Organic Milk - Whole Foods (great b/c you dont have to refrigerate it)
6. Earths Best cereal bars - local health food store
7. Yummy Earth Organic Juice Lolli (don't judge) - Whole Foods
So those two bags stayed stalked and rotate in and out of one of these five diaper bags.
My "across the chest, doing a lot of walking" bag
F21
My "everything but the kitchen sink" and only real diaper bag.
Timi & Leslie
"Always in my car" (my fave)
K-mart
"Grab and Go" (opens up to twice the size in picture)
Thrifted
"Around town"
Whole Foods
I would live in Whole Foods if they would let me.
All together now
The floaters
1. Leggings? I dont know why those were in there... in case I needed them. Maybe I was reminiscing of my B.C (before Cruz) days...
2. Bib
3. Shoes (for an almost walker)
4/5/6. Favorite toys
7. Extra shirt
8. My book. For thoughts, ideas, randoms.
